Chicken Soup for the Free Man

A follow-up to Shak's post . No offence intended of-course.

A few commandments until freedom is not lost to society's norms :

1: Thou shalt have the most eclectic of digital media.
2: Thou shalt have an opinion , unbiased,frank whatever be the problem.
3: Thou shalt behave as if nothing is amiss when your married friend spends hours in your room without speaking.
4: Thou shalt complain about the unfair advantage women have in all spheres of life :).
5: Thou shalt work/play/sleep hard though not necessarily in that order.
6: Thou shalt think twice before uttering any of your thoughts on Valentine's day's shaky raison d'ĂȘtre in-front of enslaved friends. They already know better and it's a lot worse than thou canst imagine :).
7: Thou shalt maintain a confused/questioning look when confronted on things about thy relationship status. This shalt induce the worst of complexes in the interrogator.
8: Thou shalt not meet your gf's parents/relatives under any pretext. It may lead on to things nightmares can only boast of.
9: Thou shalt never converse long after having dinner/lunch at your married friend's place. Such dialogues invariably end up with a suggestion of a good match and an analysis of your erratic habits.However do not blame your friend. He is not happy doing this to you either.
10: Thou shalt not heed heathens who hate Maggi/cornflakes.

And ...
When married friend's do get drunk (once in a blue moon), ask them about the reality. These pearls of wisdom will help when thy resolve starts to falter on rainy days.

A Poem to Ponder

In Broken Images
------------------------
He is quick, thinking in clear images;
I am slow, thinking in broken images.

He becomes dull, trusting to his clear images;
I become sharp, mistrusting my broken images,

Trusting his images, he assumes their relevance;
Mistrusting my images, I question their relevance.

Assuming their relevance, he assumes the fact,
Questioning their relevance, I question the fact.

When the fact fails him, he questions his senses;
When the fact fails me, I approve my senses.

He continues quick and dull in his clear images;
I continue slow and sharp in my broken images.

He in a new confusion of his understanding;
I in a new understanding of my confusion.

Paper Aeroplanes

As India annihilated Bermuda on its path to redemption, clearing the first hurdle to remain in the reckoning for Super 8, after the terrible loss to Bangladesh; browsing during the Ad breaks led me to a great site that brought back memories of childhood. Paper aeroplanes which provided welcome diversion in boring classes, school breaks, lazy summer afternoons and maybe aided even as messengers in not so innocent days are actually a very serious hobby pursued diligently by some people.
Download from the link the instructions to make your own airplane of utmost efficiency as they claim.

I tried it and while not 10m, still 6-7m is achievable. However if one tries a bit carefully 10m or more can be achieved.

An Elephant and a Black Hole ---- poignant astrophysics

When any object falls into a black hole the information can't be destroyed yet if any information escapes a black-hole then its a contradiction of one of the most basis tenets of physics. This Black hole Information paradox, is one of the many conundrums puzzling scientists in their quest to unify Quantum mechanics and gravity. Giddings says. "It's likely that this black hole information paradox will lead to a revolution at least as profound as the advent of quantum mechanics".

This New Scientist essay uses the classical characters of Bob and Alice along with their pet elephant,unfortunate enough to fall into a black hole,to explain some extremely interesting work in the realm of astrophysics.

How Bubbles never forget and 20 office commandments

It seems after elephants , some species of the fairer sex and human camera savants, bubbles are the next big thing in the realm of memory retention. Physicists say this has an impact on determining how the Universe which also formed as a bubble from a singularity and the manner in which it may end.

Also courtesy Digg, here are some cheeky commandments for the quintessential professional.
